Configuring your camera’s detection settings correctly helps you catch important events while avoiding annoying false alarms, such as passing cars, swaying branches, or pets. Understanding how each setting works ensures your camera delivers accurate alerts right when you need them.
At the top of the menu, you will find two core switches: Human Detection and Motion Detection.
When Human Detection is enabled, the camera uses smart AI algorithms to look specifically for human shapes, which drastically reduces false alerts from animals or changing light. Motion Detection, on the other hand, captures general movement within the camera's view. Keeping both options turned on allows the camera to track general motion while giving priority alerts when a person is detected.
Below the toggles, the Detection Sensitivity slider lets you fine-tune how easily movement triggers an event.
Setting this to the Lowest levels works best for busy outdoor areas where you want to ignore minor movements like blowing leaves. Moving the slider toward Highest sensitivity is ideal for quiet indoor spaces where you want the camera to pick up even subtle movements immediately.
Further down the menu, you can customize how and where detection works. Smart Framing automatically keeps moving targets, such as humans, focused within the camera's view. It provides a separate picture-in-picture detail of the detected person detected and dynamically adjusts the view for more clear detail of the object.
The Detection Schedule allows you to specify exact times for monitoring, such as all day, 24/7 monitoring or create a schedule to allow the camera only to detect motion during specified hours. To set a motion detection schedule, tap Schedule then set a start and end time for the schedule. For example, if you only want motion to start and end from 6am - 6pm all week, you can set the start time as 06:00 and the end time to 18:00. In the Repeat menu, choose the days of the week you want the schedule to apply and tap Save.
Note: To set additional detection schedules tap +Add a Schedule max of 3 motion schedules can be applied per device.
You can also open the Detection Zone menu to highlight specific areas you want to watch while blocking out high-traffic public areas like a sidewalk. To create a zone, tap Draw Detection Zone and tap "+". Select the overlay and use your finger to adjust the zone. Click the checkmark to save the zone. To exit, tap the "<" icon.
Finally, you can set up active deterrence through audio and visual alerts.
The Alarm Sound option configures an audible siren to play whenever motion or a person is detected. Toggling on the Warning Light automatically turns on a built-in spotlight during an event, which provides extra security and helps scare off potential intruders.
