HTTPS stands for HyperText Transfer Protocol Secure. It is a protocol for securing the communication between two systems such as a web browser and your AMLINK device. For more information on how to set up HTTPS using the web user interface (web UI) please refer to the information provided below.
Step 1: Log into the NVR's web user interface (web UI) using a web browser. For more information on how to access the web UI for your device, click here.
Step 2: Go to System>>General>>Date & Time. Disable NTP Setting and ensure the NVR's date and time zone settings are synced to your computer's date and time zone before setting up HTTPS. Once confirmed, click Apply.
Step 3: Go to Network>>Security and locate the HTTPS portion. Click Certificate Management and download the root cert to your computer.
Step 4: Right click on the cert file and select Install Certificate, click Open and use the Certificate Import Wizard to install the cert. Select Local Machine and click Next.
Step 5: Click Place all certificates in the following store, select Browse, and select Trusted Root Certification Authorities. Click Next.
Step 6: Click Finish to install the cert.
Step 7: Return to the NVR's web UI and in the HTTPS menu and click Enable HTTPS as well as the Auto Redirect to HTTPS option, click Apply, and allow the browser to reset. Allow the device to reboot and access the web UI. The device will now have a secure HTTPS/SSL connection.
