The Area Detection function allows the camera to trigger an event if an object, such as a human or vehicle, crosses a set detection area. After adding the detection area, the interface will show the rule as enabled, use your mouse to draw a detection area on the interface. For more information on how to setup the rule please refer to the information provided below.
Step 1: Log in to the web user interface (web UI) for your camera. For more information on how to access the web UI for your camera click here.
Step 2: Click on AI and enable the IVS option. Click Next.
Note: IVS will conflict with HVD settings if human or vehicle detection is enabled. Click OK to disable this function and set IVS settings.
Step 3: Click the "+" icon and select Area Detection.
Step 4: Use your mouse to draw a detection area on the interface. Once the area is drawn click the interface to set the detection area.
• Set the Action options to define specific behaviors that will trigger the event.
Appear: Triggers as soon as an object is first detected inside the zone.
Cross: Triggers only when an object moves across the boundary line of the zone.
• Set the Direction options to set the flow of movement required to trigger an event.
Enter: Only triggers when an object moves from outside to inside the zone.
Exit: Only triggers when an object moves from inside to outside.
Both: Triggers for any movement across the boundary in either direction.
The feature will be set to trigger if a human or vehicle crosses the detection area, however, the rule can be set to human only or vehicle detection only. Use the Object Filter options to modify these settings if needed.
Step 5: A schedule option will be provided, this allows you to customize when the feature will be active on your camera. To customize a the schedule, Clear and use your mouse to set the time. For instance, if you would like the rule to only apply at 6am till 6pm all week, click and drag the applicable area on the interface. Click Copy to apply the schedule to other days of the week then click Apply.
