The motion detection feature allows the camera to automatically record only when movement is detected. The option is enabled by default within the camera, however, for more information on how to modify these settings, please refer to the information provided below.
Step 1: Log in to the web user interface (web UI) for your camera. For more information on how to access the web UI for your camera click here.
Step 2: Navigate to Settings>>Event>>General Settings>>Motion Detection.
Step 3: Use your mouse to customize the detection area. By default, the entire area will be set to detect motion however specific areas can be excluded. To have the camera detect all motion events, not just human and vehicle events, you can disable the HVD option. Click Apply.
Note: Sensitivity: Adjust the motion detection sensitivity, it will be set to medium by default however can be set to low (more motion required to trigger) or high (least amount of motion required to trigger).
Step 4: A motion detection schedule can be applied if needed. This allows you to customize when motion detection will be active on your camera. To customize a motion schedule, select the gear wheel option in the schedule field.
Click and drag to set motion detection for certain dates and times. For instance, if you would like motion detection to only apply at 6am till 5pm all week, click and drag the applicable area on the interface for a selected day. Once set, click the Copy button and select All to apply the schedule to all days of the week.
To remove a schedule, click the Clear button. To refresh the page, click the Refresh button. To apply the settings, click the Apply button.
Step 5: Make sure the Record option is enabled and set any other options if needed such as sending email alerts, siren (if applicable) or any other settings and click Apply.
